Torremirona golf course offers its exclusive golf facilities for you to enjoy your favourite sport in a luxurious setting. At just 7km from the emblematic city of Figueres, is this magnificent “championship course” 18 holes (par 72) that amazes the most demanding golfers.
Enjoy this paradise in the countryside of the Alt Empordà. A unique setting for both the fantastic golf course designed by Eugenio Aguado and Jordi Soler, to the premises of the Clubhouse and TorreMirona Sport and Spa.
The area between the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees, is known for its great weather and pleasant temperatures, 365 days a year, which makes it ideal for playing golf at any time of year.
The front nine at Torremirona golf course is arguably a tougher test than the back nine. Hole 1 is an uphill short par-4 and make sure you look back down the fairway for the spectacular view of the Alt Empordá countryside on a sunny day. The first par-3, 2nd 183 metres is your first test – slightly downhill and four large but shallow bunkers protecting.
The very next hole is the favourite of the majority of golfers on the outward half This spectacular par 4 plays up to 391 metres yards from an elevated tee between perfectly positioned bunkers either side of the fairway.
The par-5 6th is a dog-leg the right with water short and left of the green which makes reaching in two a daunting task (for most). Some really strong bunkering at the back of the hole will catch over-hit approaches and bring the water back into play.
If you have played at nearby Platja de Pals golf course, then the 400 yard 8th is very similar to holes there; pine trees surrounding the whole hole.
On your way down the 9th, there are some breath-taking mountain views looking towards the North – the hole is an easy downhill SI-16, so take time to savour la vista.
The 10th starts with a mid to short iron par-3 right in front of the clubhouse, there is plenty of pressure not to miss the green as water left and sand to the right will give the golfers on the terrace plenty to be amused about if you get it wrong!
The short uphill par-4 12th hole is one of those hole all courses should have. Out of bounds on the left, large bunkers left, right and in front of the green. If that isn’t enough, the creek running across the fairway will catch under-hit tee shots.
The 13th and 14th holes are fairly straight forward but the 15th is an excellent 185 metre par-3 with three top quality bunkers front and left that require a perfect shot to navigate.
The 16th and 17th are decent holes, both can play long depending on the wind.
The course ends on a high note – the 18th is excellent – only three bunkers on the hole and all on the left side – one around landing point, the next at most golfers layup point on this par-5 and then the last one eating into the green, when you add in water on the right of the hole from around 60 metres out, this is a serious finishing hole and one of the best in the region.
